The Gaucho Record
UCSB enters Saturday's game against UC Davis with an overall record of 13-6 and a Big West mark of 4-2. On Thursday, the Gauchos moved into a first-place tie in the Big West with an 80-60 win over visiting UC Irvine. The win, along with Long Beach State's win at Hawaii, put UCSB in a tie with UC Irvine and Long Beach for the top spot in the conference. The Gauchos have now won four of their last five, seven of 10 of 13.

UCSB Surpasses 2012-13 Victory Total
In winning its 12th game of the regular season at UC Riverside on Jan. 23, the Gauchos surpassed their win total of last season. UCSB won just 11 games during the injury-marred 2012-13 season.

Williams Becomes 26th Gaucho To Score 1,000 Points, Now Ranks 23rd
Alan Williams scored 16 points in UCSB's Jan. 18 win at Cal State Northridge and in doing so, he became the 26th player in school history to eclipse the 1,000 point mark. That same night, he moved from 26th to 25th on the all-time list, passing B.J. Bunton (1,003). On Jan. 23 at UC Riverside, Williams scored 21 points and on Jan. 25 at Cal State Fullerton, he added 26 and passed Paul Johnson (1,032) and Doug Muse (1,050) in the process. Williams enters the Saturday's game ranked 23rd with 1,079 points. His next two targets are Nick Jones (1,116), Idris Jones (1,130), Eric McArthur (1,134) and Raymond Tutt (1,141). Williams is also moving up the rebound ladder. With 10 boards vs. UC Irvine he now has 675 and his next target – Chris Devine with 723 – is still a ways off. He has also improved his career rebound average to 9.0 per game, third all-time.

The Opposition
The Gauchos and UC Davis have played 27 times since the first meeting between the schools in 1939. UCSB has a 22-5 record against the Aggies and swept the season series in 2012-13, winning 64-56 at the Thunderdome and 66-59 in Davis. Santa Barbara has won the last 10 meetings between the schools.

The Gauchos At Home
UCSB is 6-2 at the Thunderdome this season. On Thursday they defeated UC Irvine, 80-60. Their other home wins this season have come against Cal, Long Beach State, South Dakota State, Hawaii-Pacific and The Master's College. UCSB has dropped home games to Utah State and Cal Poly. Last year, Santa Barbara was 8-6 in home games. The Gauchos are 309-151 all-time at the Thunderdome.

Milestone Watch
Junior Alan Williams enters Saturday's game against UC Davis with 675 rebounds, sixth all-time at UCSB, and he needs 49 to move past Chris Devine and into fifth. With 142 blocked shots, Williams is fourth in school history and needs 13 to move past Doug Muse into third. With 26 points in each of the last two games Williams has 1,079 and needs 38 to move past Nick Jones and into 22nd-place. Senior Kyle Boswell has 54 three-pointers this season and now has 197 in his career. He is third all-time and needs 25 to become the schoo's all-time leader. Also, Boswell needs 115 points to surpass 1,000 in his career. He would be the 27th UCSB player to do so.

Gauchos Among National Leaders
Alan Williams is averaging 23.1 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. He leads the Big West in both categories and ranks seventh in the nation in scoring and 11th in rebounding. Zalmico Harmon leads the league and ranks fifth nationally in assist-to-turnover ratio at 3.70-to-1. Harmon also leads the Big West in assists at 5.3 per game, a figure that ranks 48th in the nation. Kyle Boswell leads the league in three-point field goal percentage at 45.8%, ranking him 10th in the nation. He is second in the league in three-pointers made per game (2.84) and 38th nationally. As a team, the Gauchos rank 11th in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.53-to-1, 13th in assists per game at 16.5 and 18th in fewest turnovers with 205.

A Magic Number
UCSB has allowed fewer than 70 points 12 times in 2013-14 and has gone 12-0 in those games. The Gauchos have held four of their last five opponents under 70. On Jan. 16 vs. Long Beach State, they allowed 51 points, the second lowest opponent total of the season. On Dec. 30 at Seattle, UCSB allowed exactly 70 points and won. It was the only time they have won a game when allowing 70 or more, losing the other five.

Turnover Turnaround
In four games since posting a season-high 19 turnovers in a win over Long Beach State on Jan. 16, UCSB has averaged 9.5 turnovers per game. On the season, the Gauchos are averaging 10.8 turnovers per game, a vast improvement over last season when they averaged more than 13. UCSB has had 10 or fewer turnovers 11 times in 2013-14 after turning the trick just twice during the 2012-13 campaign.

UCSB has been involved in a number of one-sided games this season and, in fact, has been on the winning side of most. The Gauchos have been involved in 10 games that were decided by 10 or more points and they have a record of 9-1 in those games. The only time that Santa Barbara has lost a game by a double-digit margin was on Dec. 3 at UCLA when the Bruins recorded an 89-76 victory. UCSB has had four victory margins of 20 or more and two others of 15 or more. The Jan. 23 three-point win at UC Riverside equaled the team's smallest margin of victory this season and the 74-72 loss at Fullerton on Jan. 25 was the smallest margin of defeat.

Dot, Dot, Dot...
The Gauchos limited UC Irvine to 35.7% shooting from the field on Thursday night and it was ninth time this season that an opponent has been below 40.0%...While UCSB is outrebounding the opposition by a margin of +1.7 rebounds per game, the margin has been +6.9 per game over the last seven...The win over UC Irvine marked the fourth time this season that the Gauchos have not had a shot blocked...Since making 2-for-17 shots from three-point range in the Big West opener against Cal Poly, Santa Barbara has made 37-of-92 three-pointers, 40.2%...Alan Williams has led the team in scoring 14 times in his 17 games this season...Five different Gauchos have led the team in assists.
