Make no mistake about it Kyle Boswell can shoot the basketball.
If there were any questions about Boswell's ability to shoot, they were conclusively answered during his junior year in 2012-13 when he made 78 three-point baskets, the third most by a Gaucho in a single season. Boswell shot 41.9% from outside the three-point arc and set a career-high with he made seven in one game against nationally ranked San Diego State.
Boswell finished last season averaging 13.0 points and 2.0 rebounds per game. He averaged 14.1 points per game in Big West play and following the year was named Honorable Mention All-Big West as well as the league's Sixth Man of the Year. In a late-season game against Hawaii, he scored a career-high 27 points.
A mechanical engineering major at UCSB, Boswell sports a 3.81 grade point average entering his senior year. He was the Gauchos' Big West Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2012-13, is a two-time Academic All-Big West honoree and he has earned two Golden Eagle Awards for academic excellence. In addition, the Huntington Beach native is a member of Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society.
Boswell and the rest of the UCSB men's basketball team will tip-off the 2013-14 season on Sunday, Nov. 3 when they host Cal State East Bay in an exhibition game that will tip-off at 2:00 p.m. in the Thunderdome.
Great season ticket packages are available for the Gauchos. The non-conference schedule includes Cal, which will be making its first appearance in Santa Barbara since it helped christen the Thunderdome in 1979, as well as old rival Utah State and 2013 NCAA Tournament participant South Dakota State.
