Boswell Named to I-AAA Scholar-Athlete Team
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – UC Santa Barbara junior guard Kyle Boswell has been selected to the 11th Annual Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association Scholar-Athlete Team, the organization announced Thursday.
Boswell was one of just 10 men's basketball players honored nationally. He possesses a 3.78 grade point average in Mechanical Engineering.
"Kyle works so hard in the classroom and this honor is well-deserved," said UCSB head coach Bob Williams. "What makes this even more impressive is that he is a mechanical engineering, one of the most difficult majors at a great school."
At the 2013 Big West Tournament, Boswell was honored as UCSB's Male Scholar Athlete of the Year. In May, he will receive his second Golden Eagle Award as the basketball team's top scholar.
In 2012-13, Boswell averaged 13.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. He made 78 three-point baskets, the third highest total in school history. Following the season he was selected Honorable Mention All-Big West.
