Orlando Johnson completed his career at UCSB as the
school's all-time leading scorer with 1,825 points...As a senior,
he led the team in scoring (19.7 ppg), assists (2.9 apg) and steals
(34)...Also averaged 5.8 rebounds per game...With 611 points on the
season, Johnson became the first player in school history to score
more than 500 points three straight years...Scored in
double-figures 30 times in 31 games...Had double doubles against
UNLV (36 points, 10 rebounds), Washington (24 points, 10 rebounds),
Portland (26 points, 12 rebounds), UC Irvine (25 points, 10
rebounds) and Westmont (20 points, 10 rebounds)...Johnson had a
season-high 36 points, along with 10 rebounds, four assists, three
steals and two blocked shots in a double overtime loss to
UNLV...Scored 25 or more points six times and 20 or more 19
times...Also led the Gauchos with 70 three-point baskets and made
three or more 14 times, including six times in the last seven games

against Cal State Fullerton and the Gauchos ultimately won the game
in overtime...Had five or more rebounds 18 times and seven or more
on 10 occasions...Shot 70.3% from the free throw line, but he made
84 out of 101 over the final 16 games, 83.2%...His total of 540
points was the sixth most in school history.

Johnson redshirted the 2008-09 season after transferring from
Loyola Marymount.
LOYOLA MARYMOUNT
Johnson's one season at Loyola Marymount was an outstanding
one...Set school records for freshman by scoring 383 points and
averaging 12.4 points per game...Also tied LMU's record for
rebounds by a freshman with 152...Led the Lions in scoring and
rebounding, tied for the team-lead in blocked shots with 12, and
was second on the team with 40 three-point baskets...Johnson scored
in double-figures 20 times in 31 game...Also scored 15 or more 12
times and 20 or more four times...Scored a career-high 26 points
against Wagner, 25 against UC Riverside, 23 against Presbyterian,
and 21 against Mercer...Had a season-high 11 rebounds three
times...Had double-doubles against Boise State (16 points, 11
rebounds), Portland (16 points, 11 rebounds), and Pepperdine (17
points, 11 rebounds)...Made a season-high four three-point baskets
against UC Riverside...Hit two or more three-pointers 10
times...Johnson shot 41.2% overall, 32.0% from three-point range,
and 64.2% from the free throw line...Averaged 2.1 assists per game
and had a season-high of six against Boise State...Earned West
Coast Conference Player of the Week honors.

Johnson graduated from Palma High School...Attended North Salinas
High School for his freshman and sophomore years...Averaged 25.6

Orlando Vincent Johnson was born March 11, 1989 in Monterey,
Calif....The son of the late Vicki Renée Johnson...Raised by
his brothers Jamell Damon, Sr. and Robert Johnson, and his
sister-in-law Shannan Damon...His brother Jamell played football at
St. Mary's and his brother Robert played basketball at Weber
State...Johnson was a member of the Principal's Honor Roll in his
sophomore and senior years of high school...Also played three years
of football in high school, earning all-league and underclassmen
MVP honors as a junior before opting not to play his senior
season...Enjoys watching movies and his favorites include He Got
Game, Friday Night Lights, and Above the Rim...Roots for the
Oakland Raiders...Paul Pierce is his favorite athlete...Majoring in
communication studies and would someday like to get into television
and broadcasting.
