Santa Barbara, Calif. -The UC Santa Barbara baseball program has signed five recruits to National Letters of Intent for the 2003 season. The Gauchos have received letters from three pitchers and two position players, including a local product from Santa Barbara High School.
"We are very pleased to have been able to sign these players," said head coach Bob Brontsema. "Not only have we filled some of our needs, but these student-athletes will represent our University and our program in a positive manner."

Marin Catholic Team MVP, First Team All Marin County Athletic League, Pitched complete game shutout victory in NCS 3A Redwood Empire title game.
"Steve is a strong right hander that we think should be able to pitch some quality innings as a freshman. He has a good feel for pitching. Steve touches the 90's but is comfortable throwing in the 88-89 MPH range."
