2007 Recruiting Class Named Top-25 by StudentSportsBaseball.com

Dec. 2, 2005

TORRANCE, Calif. - The 2007 Gaucho baseball recruiting class was listed in the Top-25 nationally by StudentSportsBaseball.com. The recruiting class is made up of three right-handed pitchers, two left-handed pitchers and two middle-infielders. Joining the Gauchos on the list from the Big West are Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton and UC Irvine.

The rankings are based only on the high school player that are slated to play for UCSB in 2007, not taking into account the Junior College transfers that are apart of the overall class. StudentSportsBaseball.com will re-examine all the recruiting classes after the MLB Draft, next June, to see which schools have the best chance of keeping their recruits.

The 2006 UCSB baseball team opens its season on February 7 when it hosts Westmont at 2 pm at UCSB's Caesar Uyesaka Stadium.
