Southpaw Sean Thompson Selected By Chicago White Sox In 35th Round Of 2003 Major League Draft

Santa Barbara, Calif. - Senior left handed pitcher Sean Thompson became the third Gaucho player drafted in the 2003 Major League Baseball Draft, the southpaw was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 35th round.

As a senior, the Redondo Beach native led the Gauchos in wins (6), starts (17), and innings pitched (104.1). In 2002 Thompson led the Gaucho pitching staff with 22 appearances and finished with a 4-3 mark and 55 strikeouts in 87.2 innings pitched.

Thompson, a transfer from El Camino College was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 27th round of the 2000 Major League Draft.
