UC Santa Barbara baseball head coach Bob Brontsema's Gauchos just swept an important Big West series from Long Beach State over the weekend. He takes some time with www.collegebaseball360.com to talk about the three wins coming away from home after the series was moved to Cal State Fullerton due to the Jesusita Fire.

The fires evacuated more than 30,000 Santa Barbara residents and forced the Gauchos and 49ers to move their series to Goodwin Field where UCSB was led by Joe Gardner and Matt Valaika, who were named Big West Pitcher and Player of the Week. It was the first time UCSB had swept the weekly awards since 2001.

With no conference tournament, UCSB's remaining games are a pair of 3-game series with UC Riverside and UC Irvine. Listen to Brontsema's thoughts on his team dealing with adversity last weekend as well as its NCAA Tournament hopes.

This weekend the Gauchos will travel to face UC Riverside before finishing the season with a home series against No. 1 UC Irvine the weekend of May 22.
