UCSB Set To Hold 2007 All-Star Prospect Camp

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The UC Santa Barbara baseball program has announced the dates for the 3rd Annual High School All-Star Prospect Camp, it was announced Tuesday. The camp, which offers a unique baseball opportunity to high school players who are interested in playing collegiately at the Division I level, will be held July 15-19 on the UCSB campus.
Offering a one-to-eight coach-to-player ratio, the All-Star Prospects Camp will provide three hours of individual instruction each day and give players the opportunity to participate in games. Campers will have the opportunity to work with the Gaucho coaching staff, professional scouts, local coaches, and UCSB's strength and conditioning coach. Each participant will receive equal attention and playing time during the week and receive a written evaluation from a member of UCSB's coaching staff. Participants will also receive instruction on all aspects of the game including daily competition, education on strength and conditioning, the process of recruiting, the mental aspect of baseball, and information on playing professionally.
Campers have the option of staying overnight on the UCSB campus or commuting each day during the 2007 All-Star Prospect camp. The camp is limited to a maximum of 80 players with teams of 20 and runs from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. each day. Prices are $675 for those who wish to stay overnight and $575 for those that will be commuting each day.
