UCSB To Honor 2006 Dos Pueblos All-Stars Sunday

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The UC Santa Barbara baseball team will honor the 2006 Dos Pueblos All-Stars this Sunday before the start of its 1:00 p.m. game with No. 20 UC Irvine. The local Little League squad became the first team from DPLL to win a sectional tournament and then went on the claim the 2006 state championship.

Led by manager Dan Rohde, the DP All-Stars won a second straight district title before advancing to the state tournament where they won six games in six days. Dos Pueblos made history at the tournament, becoming the first team ever to lose its first game and bounce back to win the title.

The nine and 10-year old Little Leaguers and coaching staff will be honored individually during pre-game introductions Sunday. The Gauchos open their three-game set with the nationally ranked Anteaters today at 2:00 p.m., weather permitting.
