UCSB Gives Up Four in the Ninth Inning Allowing Pepperdine to Tie the Game at 9-9

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -
A bases clearing double in the first inning by junior catcher Matt Kalafatis, two RBI by junior first baseman Bill Rowe and a solo home run in the top of the eighth by senior left fielder Matt Stevens helped UC Santa Barbara post nine runs on host Pepperdine. The Waves rallied from a four run deficit in the bottom of the ninth to the tie the ball game. Pepperdine catcher Chad Tracy evened the score on a wild pitch thrown by junior relief pitcher Nate Holguin.
The game will be resumed in the top of the 10th at Caesar Useyaka Stadium on Sunday beginning at noon. Following the completion of Saturday's game, the two teams will conclude their three-game series with their regularly-scheduled game.
