San Jose State Comes to Caesar Uyesaka to Battle the Gauchos on the Diamond

San Jose State comes to Caesar Uyesaka to take on the Gauchos in a three game series, this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Friday's game is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., while Saturday's and Sunday's contests will get under way at 1:00 p.m..

Last season, the San Jose State Spartans finished the season with a record of 30-26-1. They finished third in the Western Athletic Conference after a record of 16-11. In the WAC Tournament, they went 2-2 and finished third in the tournament.

San Jose State comes to Santa Barbara after winning their first game against Santa Clara University, 4-1. Junior Outfielder, John Fagan hit his first home run of the season to lead the Spartans past the Broncos.

The tentative Spartan's starting rotation this weekend is Joey Baker, Chris Key, and the winner against Santa Clara, Chris Sherman.

The Gauchos enter this weekend series on a two-game winning streak. They started the season losing to Utah State, 4-3, but battled back in the second game to defeat Centenary College, 11-4. In their third game, the Gauchos beat cross-town rivals Westmont College, 18-6.

Dave Molidor is leading the Gaucho starters with a .667 AVG., two home runs, and seven RBI.

Probable starting pitchers for the Gauchos are Troy Kinto, Gabe Neboyia, and Rylie Ogle.
