Bannon led off the inning with a single to center and then moved to third on a Jed Stringham double to right center. After Warrecker walked to load the bases, Spilborghs grounded out to short, scoring Bannon. The inning ended on a Jared Schumaker sacrifice fly to left, to score pinch runner Andy Campanella, and a throw to third to get Warrecker trying to advance.
Garcia, who allowed just one run on three Highlander hits in seven innings struck out eight men to get the win and improve to 5-1 on the season. Russell Wirth tossed the final two innings for UCSB, surrendering one unearned run and fanning three to earn his first save of the year.
