As a Junior Matt pitched in 16 games, starting 14 of those... Went 6-6 which tied the team lead in wins while posting a 4.32 ERA in 85.1 innings which was 2nd most on the team...Had one save against USC on March 8th... Led the team with 64 strikeouts while only walking 38..Had 3 complete games, one of them being a shutout... Was 3-2 with a 3.78 ERA in conference, limiting hitters to a .206 batting average...On March 9th against Nevada took a no hitter into the 9th inning with 8 strikeouts, giving up a hit with one out left which garnered him his first Pitcher of the Week accolade of his career... Won Big West Pitcher of the week for his performance on May 8th at Cal State Northridge, where he pitched 9 innings giving up 4 hits while striking out 9, giving up 1 unearned run...finished the season throwing 8 scoreless innings at UC Davis giving up only 1 hit and 9 scoreless innings against Pacific with 6 strikeouts...Drafted by the Los Angeles Angels in the 49th round, but decided to return for UCSB for his senior campaign...

Posted a 2.56 ERA in his second season at Yuba College with 76 strikeouts in 77.1 innings pitched ... Was a team captain in 2010 ... In his first year with the 49ers, went 5-4 with a 4.21 ERA with 48 strikeouts in 66.1 innings ... Tossed eight innings, allowing no earned runs with nine strikeouts vs. Napa Valley on Mar. 4, 2010 ...
