|Title:||Undergraduate Assistant Coach|
Former UCSB player Ryan Clark is in his first season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Gauchos. He will serve as UCSB's first base coach and will assist coach Eddie Cornejo with the team's infielders.
Clark, a native of Clovis, Calif., was a four-year player for the Gauchos, culminating in a trip to the program's first-ever College World Series berth in 2016. He was UCSB's starting third baseman that season, hitting .268 en route to an All-Big West Honorable Mention. He was one of the biggest reasons for the Gauchos' early season success, opening the year with an eight-game hitting streak.
The sure-handed infielder came up big at the end of the year as well, notching a hit in seven of UCSB's eight postseason games on the road to Omaha. In all, Clark made 132 appearances for the gold-and-blue.
