In his first year with the Gauchos Jared appeared in 24 games all in relief...threw a total of 35.0 innings striking out 30 batters and finishing with a 4.63 ERA...recorded a save in a 3.2 inning outing against Cal State Northridge on April 6 in which he allowed only 1 run on 2 hits striking out 3...also threw 4 stellar innings allowing an unearned run against Cal State Bakersfield on April 3...was drafted in the 35th round of the 2012 MLB Draft by the Minnesota Twins 

Cypress Community College
Played at Cypress College for head coach Scott Pickler ... In his freshman year he had a 3.00 ERA and helped his team get to the Super Regionals ... His sophomore year he had a 3.23 conference ERA and helped the Chargers get to the Regionals ... He was also the Male Scholar Athlete of the Year.

Was a three-year letter winner for head coach Dave Lawn at Servite High ... Jared played first base and pitched for the Friars ... He also played quarterback for the football team and was a three time scholar athlete.
