Andrew quickly emerged as one of the most feared arms in
collegiate baseball during his freshman campaign in which he led
the Gauchos with 15 starts and 88.2 innings, earned a 6-4 record,
finished the year with a Big West leading 1.93 ERA, and became the
first freshman Gaucho pitcher since Barry Zito to strike out
100 batters during a season...highlights include an 8 inning
shutdown outing against Nevada on March 10, a 7 inning 12K shutout
effort against Rhode Island on March 16, and 7 innings allowing
only 1 run against UC Davis on April 27...recieved All Big West 2nd
Team honors and a spot on the Louisville Slugger Freshman All
American team...also pitched for the local summer collegiate team
the Santa Barbara Foresters helping them earn a National Baseball
Congress National Championship.

Pitched and played first base for Dominick Copas at Los
Osos High School ... In his senior year, Andrew posted a 1.54 ERA
with 67 strikeouts in 52.4 innings pitched and finished with a 5-1
