Doubles Teams Fall; Three Advance in Consolation Singles at ITA Regionals
MALIBU, Calif. – UC Santa Barbara doubles teams fell just short of a semifinals berth in the main draw of the ITA Southwest Regionals as both Gaucho duos lost to teams from UCLA on Sunday. Meanwhile in singles play, three UCSB players advanced to the quarterfinals in the consolation bracket.

Late UC Irvine Goal Fells UCSB, 2-1
Bianca Frontino scored a goal in the final minute of regulation to give UC Irvine a 2-1 win over visiting UC Santa Barbara on Sunday afternoon. The loss was the second straight heartbreaking defeat for the Gauchos.

UC Santa Barbara provided a valiant effort in keeping UC Davis off the board on Saturday afternoon after losing a man to a second yellow card just minutes into the second half, but the Aggies were eventually able to exploit the advantage by scoring a 107th minute golden goal and claiming a 1-0 win.

In their 2014-15 season opener, the UCSB men’s swimming team dueled USC to a 152-107 finish with the Trojans finishing on top. Additionally, ten new swimmers swam made their Gaucho debuts today.

MALIBU, Calif. – UC Santa Barbara men’s tennis opened play at the ITA Southwest Regionals on Friday against some tough competition in Malibu. The Gauchos went 1-0 in doubles play and recorded three wins in singles in an otherwise difficult day at the courts.

UCSB Returns Home to Host Long Beach State, Cal State Northridge
Last weekend, UCSB split its first road trip of the Big West season with a 3-2 loss at UC Irvine and a 3-1 victory at Cal State Fullerton. The Gauchos made a comeback in the fourth set against the Anteaters to force a fifth set, but Irvine successfully defended their home floor with a 15-8 fifth set score. UCSB bounced back against Cal State Fullerton, as the team put together its best blocking performance of the year with 32 total blocks.

Craig Nitti scored a pair of second-half goals while Sebastien De Rada and Adrien Perez added tallies as well to propel Loyola Marymount to a 4-0 shutout of UC Santa Barbara on Tuesday night in front of a sell-out crowd of 1,321 at Sullivan Field.
