Men's Soccer Receives Committments From Top Recruits Justin Vom Steeg and Sam Strong
The UCSB men's soccer team received committments from a pair of top local recruits this month in goalkeeper Justin Vom Steeg and defender Sam Strong, the team announced today. The duo will potentially strengthen the Gauchos' defensive corps for years to come, starting with the 2015-16 season.

Gauchos Complete Day 2 of SoCal Intercollegiate
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – UC Santa Barbara men’s tennis completed their second day of tournament play at the Southern California Intercollegiate in Los Angeles on Thursday. Third seeded Tobias Galskov collected two victories to advance to the quarterfinals of the singles main draw while the doubles team of Teague Hamilton and Erik Johnsson won their qualifying match to move into the main draw in doubles.

DePuy's OT Winner Puts Gauchos in Tie Atop Big West North Division Standings
UC Davis entered Wednesday night with 14 points in conference play, a first-place standing in the Big West North, and a clear game plan to escape from Harder Stadium with a draw. UCSB's sophomore forward Nick DePuy wasn't having it. The 6-4 point man scored off an overtime cross from Ismaila Jome in the 99th minute to give the Gauchos the full three points and a tie atop the division standings with the Aggies.

Gauchos Continue on the Road at Davis, Riverside
Last weekend, UCSB traveled to Hawai’i where they were dealt a 3-1 loss after battling closely with the Rainbow Wahine in the first two sets. Ali Barbeau led the Gaucho offense with 16 kills, while Chanel Hoffman had 11 kills and 16 digs, which was her team-high fifth double-double of the season. In the match, the Gauchos held their own defensively, as they limited the Rainbow Wahine to a .216 hitting percentage, which was their lowest mark at home this season since Oregon limited them to a .178 clip on Sept. 5.

UCSB will celebrate its annual Senior Night on Thursday night against Cal State Fullerton. The match will be the final home contest for five seniors. Madison Beckley, Miranda Cornejo, Geneve Dromensk, Kelly McGrath and Indiana Mead will each be seeing their final action as Gauchos at Harder Stadium. They will be saluted in a pregame ceremony.

Gauchos Come Out on Top Over BYU, Fall to UCLA in 3-way Duel Meet
In their 2014-15 season opener, the UCSB women’s swimming team dueled both UCLA and BYU today at Campus Pool. The winds were strong but our swimmers proved to be stronger as they out-scored BYU 164-98. UCLA, however, took the win over both teams, beating UCSB 162-96. Additionally, ten new swimmers made their Gaucho debuts today.

The UCSB men's basketball team was picked to finish second in the 2014-15 Big West Conference regular season standings and senior Alan Williams was chosen for the Preseason All-Conference Team in a poll of the league's media members, it was announced Thursday.
