UCSB, San Jose State Battle to 1-1 Tie
UC Santa Barbara and San Jose State each scored a first half goal and that was it as the teams battled to a physical 1-1 overtime tie in the Gauchos home opener on Friday evening.

Gauchos Open Season with Back-to-Back Sweeps of Utah Valley, Incarnate Word
MALIBU, Calif. – The start of the 2015 season could not have gone much better, as UCSB swept its way through two matches to open at 2-0. The Gauchos tipped off the Pepperdine Asics Tournament with a 3-0 match against Utah Valley and followed that up by blanking Incarnate Word later in the afternoon.

The UC Santa Barbara men's water polo team will enter the 2015 season ranked No. 7 in the first College Water Polo Association (CWPA) poll of the year, it was announced Thursday.

UCSB Women's Soccer Wine Experience Weekend Set for Sept. 4-6
The UCSB women’s soccer team will host its annual Wine Experience from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 5 in the lobby of the Intercollegiate Athletics Building on campus. The festivities will actually begin on the evening of Friday, September 4 when the Gauchos host the University of Texas in a 7:00 p.m. match at Harder Stadium.

Gauchos Battle San Jose State in Home Opener Friday Afternoon
The UCSB women's soccer team will play the first of 10 home games when it hosts San Jose State on Friday, Aug. 28. The match will kick-off at 5:00 p.m. and is part of a doubleheader with the Gaucho men's team playing Stanford at 7:30 p.m. The team will then be off for a week, until it hosts the University of Texas on Friday, Sept. 4 at Harder Stadium.

Late Goal Gives USF 1-0 Win Over UCSB
Amanda Whittle took a pass from Alex Alugas on the left side the 18-yard box, deked a UC Santa Barbara defender and rifled a shot past goalkeeper Beth Ritter, into the far right portion of the goal in the 86th minute to give the University of San Francisco a 1-0 win on Saturday afternoon at Negoesco Stadium on the USF campus.

Men's Soccer Season Preview Pt. III: Versatile Defense Ready to Lock It Down
Thanks to an injury bug in 2014, many of this year's key defensive contributors have an extensive amount of experience for their age. Quezada and Adeniyi will get the first crack at the center back pairing, with Strong, Broackway, and Backus ready to step in if neccesary. Jome and Backus will play at left and right back, respectively, with Jome likely to move up the field often. Justin Vom Steeg has the chance to be a top keeper already as a true freshman, and with established veterans behind him in Berke and McNeely, the Gauchos have more depth in goal than they've had in years.

Men's Soccer Season Preview Pt. II: Managing the Midfield
In short: The midfield will be UCSB's most drastic contrast from the 2014 team. Vom Steeg has brought in sizable and skilled transfers as opposed to last year's technical but slight midfielders in order to compete better against physical teams. Dependable returner Drew Murphy will anchor the middle of the park beside newcomers Kevin Feucht, Geoffrey Acheampong, and Josue España. Returners Adam Carn-Saferstein and Andy Perez will receive plenty of playing time as well.
