Sophomore Brandon Bauman birdied the final hole to become just the third UC Santa Barbara player ever to win individual medalist honors at the Big West Conference Tournament as he finished with a 4-under par 212 to edge Cal Poly's Cole Nygren by one shot after Wednesday's final round at Wood Ranch Golf Club. Decathletes and Heptathletes Ready for Big West Championships
UCSB will send three decathletes and two heptathletes into action this weekend to the Big West Combined Events Championship. Hosting a two weekend block of championship competition, Long Beach State will welcome in nine Big West women's teams and eight on the men's side. The decathlon-heptathlon portion of the championship will take place on Friday-Saturday, May 6-7 while the regular meet will be the following weekend, May 13-14.
