UCSB Closes Out 2014 With Televised Game at Oregon State
The Gauchos return to the state of Oregon for a second straight time when they travel to Corvallis to play Oregon State on Tuesday, Dec. 30. After consecutive games in the Pacific Northwest, they will return home for their final two non-conference games of the season. On Friday, Jan. 2, they will host the University of Vermont and on Monday, Jan. 5 they get a rematch against Florida-Gulf Coast, to whom they lost in overtime at Fort Myers, Fla., on Nov. 17.

UCSB Loses Another Tough Overtime Road Game, 82-78 at Oregon
It was a familiar scene as late heroics helped visiting UC Santa Barbara force overtime at Oregon on Monday night, but in the end the Ducks closed the game on a 7-0 run to beat the Gauchos, 82-78.

Lakoju Resting Comfortably in Oregon Hospital
UC Santa Barbara freshman Ami Lakoju, who collapsed during practice on Sunday evening, is alert and resting comfortably in a Springfield, Ore., hospital, said head coach Bob Williams. The Gauchos were preparing for Monday night’s game at the University of Oregon.

UCSB Makes First of Two Trips to Oregon, Plays Ducks Monday Night
The Gauchos will play its final two games of the 2014 calendar year in the beautiful state of Oregon. On Monday, Dec. 22, the Gauchos will meet the University of Oregon in Eugene and on Dec. 30 they will play Oregon State in Corvallis. Both games will be televised live on the Pac 12 Network.

Alan Williams had 15 points, nine rebounds and four assists in just 23 minutes and Michael Bryson added 12 points as UC Santa Barbara cruised to a 69-46 win over visiting San Diego Christian on Friday afternoon.

The Gauchos will host San Diego Christian on Friday, Dec. 19 at 4:00 p.m. in their final Thunderdome appearance of 2014. The game will tip-off at 4:00 p.m. and will be followed by a UCSB women’s game against visiting LSU which is slated to tip at 7:30 p.m.

Gauchos Host LSU in Primetime Matchup
Last week, UCSB fell to Pepperdine 66-44 in the Thunderdome. The Waves picked up a revenge win on Friday, as the Gauchos took a 77-69 decision in Malibu a season ago. Onome Jemerigbe led UCSB with 12 points and added a pair of assists. Overall, the Gauchos shot 32.7 percent from the floor, while Pepperdine finished with a 48.1 shooting clip. Though UCSB was able to cut a 17-point deficit down to eight points by the end of the first half, the team struggled in opening the second and could not keep up with the Waves.

No. 4 Gauchos Receive Highest Preseason Ranking Since '01, Tabbed to Finish Second by MPSF Coaches
Coming off the most successful regular season in the tenure of seventh-year head coach Rick McLaughlin, the UC Santa Barbara men's volleyball is being picked to do big things in the 2015 season. The squad was ranked No. 4 in the AVCA Division I-II Preseason Poll, it was announced this week, while today the MPSF Coaches Poll had the Gauchos finishing second in the ultra-competitive conference.

Gauchos Open Two-Game Homestand Thursday Night as USD Invades Thunderdome
UCSB returns home with a 4-4 overall record and is coming off of a tough 80-73 overtime loss at SMU on Monday. Since losing their first two games of the season (at Kansas and at Florida-Gulf Coast) the Gauchos have won four of their last six. In their last home game on Dec. 4 against Seattle University, they posted an 87-46 win.

UCSB Returns to the Thunderdome, Hosts Pepperdine Friday
The Gauchos went 0-2 last week with losses to Washington State and San Diego State. Despite the defeats, UCSB showed that it is improving with each game. Against the Cougars, the team came up with its best scoring effort of the season in making 40 percent of its shots, while they played in a tight battle with the Aztecs in a game that came down to the final minute. In trying to overcome a 10-point SDSU lead at halftime, UCSB shot 48 percent from the field in the second half and came within four points with 40 seconds left in the game.

Gauchos Play Mustangs in Big D Monday
UCSB hits the road to Dallas with a 4-3 overall record. The Gauchos are coming off of a resounding 87-46 home win over Seattle University that may have been their most complete win of the season. Santa Barbara went 2-1 at the Great Alaska Shootout over Thanksgiving weekend , winning their first two games against Washington State (71-43) and Mercer (65-60 in overtime) respectively before falling to Colorado State in the championship game, 65-63. The Gauchos have now won four of their last five games.
