UCSB Senior Dani Moreno took the win for the second year in a row at the UC Riverside Invitational. Maxine Goyette finished third in the 172 woman field. The UCSB men placed two in the top-ten en route to a third place team finish in the field of 29.

UCSB Offense Breaks Through in 4-1 Thumping of Colgate
No. 21 UC Santa Barbara had four different players score a goal on Friday night, doubling the team's season scoring total in one fell stroke and vanquishing the Colgate Raiders by a score of 4-1 at Harder Stadium in the first contest of a six-game homestand.

No. 7 UC Santa Barbara (4-1) traveled south for a midweek showdown against No. 9 Pepperdine (2-1).

UCSB Travels to Berkeley for Cal Molten Classic
Last week, UCSB picked up its first win and first sweep of the season at the Sacramento State Invitational. The back-to-back wins snapped the team’s four-match losing streak. The Gauchos went 2-1 over the weekend with a 3-1 victory over Fresno State followed by a sweep of the host Hornets. Leading Santa Barbara’s offense was Britton Taylor with 3.23 kills per set, while Ali Santi quarterbacked the team’s attack in averaging 27 assists per set. With those numbers, both players were voted to the all-tournament team.

UCSB remains at home for two games this weekend. On Friday, the Gauchos host former Big West Conference member San Jose State in the first game of a soccer doubleheader on Meredith Field at Harder Stadium with kickoff slated for 5:00 p.m. The men’s team will play Colgate in a 7:30 p.m. contest. On Sunday, UCSB welcomes an anagram to town when it hosts CSUB, or Cal State Bakersfield, in a 6:00 p.m. game.
