UCSB Picked Second in Big West Conference Media Poll, Williams Named to Preseason All-Conference Squad
The UCSB men's basketball team was picked to finish second in the 2014-15 Big West Conference regular season standings and senior Alan Williams was chosen for the Preseason All-Conference Team in a poll of the league's media members, it was announced Thursday.

UCSB Renews Blue-Green Rivalry, Travels to Cal Poly Sunday
UC Santa Barbara travels north for a Blue-Green Rivalry game against Cal Poly, which is tied for first-place in the Big West with 12 points. The game against the Mustangs will be the Gauchos final road game of the season.

UCSB Visits Hawai'i for Marquee Conference Match-Up
Last weekend, UCSB had a big sweep over Cal State Northridge after falling 3-0 to Long Beach State the night before. The teams battled into extra points in the first and third sets with UCSB pulling off a come-from-behind 28-26 victory in the third. The Gauchos’ win over CSUN was its seventh straight sweep of the Matadors in the Thunderdome. Northridge was receiving votes in the AVCA Poll and was ranked No.16 in the RPI - best of all the Big West teams - heading into last weekend’s play.

The UC Santa Barbara men's soccer team was clearly happy to back home on Wednesday night, as the Gauchos matched a season-high for goals in a 4-1 drubbing of Sacramento State to win their fifth straight contest at Harder Stadium.

UC Santa Barbara jumped from 18th-place, where it finished the second round, into at 17th-place finish at the prestigious Bill Cullum Invitational at the Wood Ranch Golf Club in Simi Valley on Tuesday.

Doubles Teams Fall; Gauchos End Run at ITA Regionals
MALIBU, Calif. – UC Santa Barbara doubles teams fell just short of a semifinals berth in the main draw of the ITA Southwest Regionals as both Gaucho duos lost to teams from UCLA on Sunday. Meanwhile in singles play, Tobias Galskov and Cody Rakela advanced to the semifinals in the consolation bracket before withdrawing from the tournament.

Late UC Irvine Goal Fells UCSB, 2-1
Bianca Frontino scored a goal in the final minute of regulation to give UC Irvine a 2-1 win over visiting UC Santa Barbara on Sunday afternoon. The loss was the second straight heartbreaking defeat for the Gauchos.

UCSB head basketball Bob Williams will return to the radio airwaves to host “Bob in Paradise” from the Paradise Café in downtown Santa Barbara on AM 1290 KZSB from 6-7 pm on Tuesdays. Williams last hosted the show in 2008-09.

UC Davis Lands Late Overtime Goal to Defeat UCSB 1-0
UC Santa Barbara provided a valiant effort in keeping UC Davis off the board on Saturday afternoon after losing a man to a second yellow card just minutes into the second half, but the Aggies were eventually able to exploit the advantage by scoring a 107th minute golden goal and claiming a 1-0 win.

In their 2014-15 season opener, the UCSB men’s swimming team dueled USC to a 152-107 finish with the Trojans finishing on top. Additionally, ten new swimmers swam made their Gaucho debuts today.

MALIBU, Calif. – UC Santa Barbara men’s tennis opened play at the ITA Southwest Regionals on Friday against some tough competition in Malibu. The Gauchos went 1-0 in doubles play and recorded three wins in singles in an otherwise difficult day at the courts.

Men's Tennis Travels to Malibu for USTA/ITA Southwest Regionals
MALIBU, Calif. – UC Santa Barbara men’s tennis will continue their fall tournament schedule in Malibu this weekend at the USTA/ITA Southwest Regionals at Pepperdine’s Ralph-Straus Tennis Center. The tournament is set to begin on Friday, Oct. 17 and run through Tuesday, Oct. 21.
