Oregon Transfer Drea Toler Joins UCSB
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Continuing to recruit strong this off-season, the UCSB women’s basketball team has brought Oregon transfer Drea Toler to Santa Barbara. With two more years of eligibility left, the 5-5 guard will redshirt the 2015-16 season and will make her Gaucho debut in the fall of 2016.

UCSB senior Jessica Johnson earned Honorable Mention All-American honors for her performance in the women's 400m at the NCAA Championships Thursday evening. Running in the third heat of the semis, Johnson finished seventh and 20th overall, recording a time of 53.59.

Two UCSB Gauchos earned Honorable Mention All-American awards for their performances at the NCAA Championships Wednesday afternoon. Albert Hughes placed 20th in the hammer throw, recording the third best throw of his career. Thomas Gore-Schreck placed 18th in the javelin, up four spots from his pre-championship ranking.

UC Santa Barbara junior right-hander Dillon Tate, who became UCSB's highest ever draftee on Monday after being selected with the fourth overall pick by the Texas Rangers, added to his quickly-filling trophy cabinet this morning, as we named an All-American by both D1 Baseball and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

Track Opens Day One at NCAA's; Full Athlete Resumes
The UCSB Gauchos will open day one of the NCAA Championships Wednesday with Albert Hughes and Thomas Gore-Schreck set to see action in the long throws. Hughes will step into the circle as the first thrower of the hammer competition at 1:30pm. Gore-Schreck will throw third in the first flight which is scheduled to go off at 5pm inside Oregon's Historic Hayward Field.
