Andy Fee is in his sixth year at UC Santa Barbara, serving as Sr. Associate Athletics Director for Development & Principal Gifts. Managing a staff of five, Fee provides direction and leadership to the UCSB Athletics development program, which includes fundraising efforts for all endowments, capital projects, annual giving and planned gifts. His priority focus is on major and leadership gifts directed towards Gaucho Athletics. Collaborating directly with administrators and coaches Fee works to identify, cultivate, and solicit gifts to UCSB Athletics across 20 programs and areas. Fee has increased annual athletic giving by 327% to an all-time high in fiscal year 2016 of $4.7M. With a total of over $15M in secured gifts during his tenure, Fee has helped raise the bar for Gaucho athletics.
As a member of the executive staff, Fee also assists in strategic planning for the department. Additionally, he serves on the Chancellor's Committee for Enterprise Risk Management and serves on the Central Development leadership team. Working closely with Chancellor Henry T. Yang, Director of Athletics John McCutcheon and the UCSB Foundation Trustee Board he plays an integral role in moving Gaucho athletics forward. Fee came to UC Santa Barbara from the University of San Diego where he served as Associate Athletics Director for Facilities & Operations from 2002-2010. Fee oversaw all athletic operations including event management, master planning, scheduling, and maintenance and purchasing for the department's athletic venues. Fee also served as sport supervisor for Women's Soccer, Men’s & Women’s Cross Country, Women’s Track, Women's & Men's Rowing, and Men's Golf. These duties included supervision of head coaches, budgets, scheduling, fundraising and general oversight of each program. Additionally, during his time at USD he served on the Campus Parking Committee as well as Campus Master Planning Committee.
Prior to the University of San Diego, Fee worked at Arizona State University in Athletic Operations for two seasons. Before that he was the Facility Supervisor for the ASU Student Recreation Complex. Besides his work at ASU and USD, he developed Athletics and Management skills with the NFL Cardinals, Fiesta Bowl and PGA Phoenix Open. From Laguna Niguel, California, he earned his B.A. in Political Science with a minor in History from Arizona State University, and his M.A. in Education from the University of Phoenix. Andy and his wife, Nicole, reside in Santa Barbara along with their dog Sparky.
