SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - UC Santa Barbara men's basketball coach Bob Williams, guard Michael Bryson, and women's basketball guard Nicole Nesbit will be the featured guests on this week's edition of Talk'n Gauchos.
The show, which airs live from 6-7pm on KZSB AM 1290 the Santa Barbara News-Press Radio Station and online at UCSBgauchos.com, is broadcasted weekly from the Beachside Bar and Café on Goleta Beach.
Gerry Fall, the Voice of the Gauchos, is the host for Talk'n Gauchos.
Fans are encouraged to attend the radio show, as those attending will be eligible for a raffle and other UCSB prizes as well as the chance to meet the show's guests in person.
Bob Williams coached the Gauchos to their first ever victory over Cal last Friday. The win not only maintained UCSB’s position at No. 17 in the mid-majors poll, but it was also its third win against a team that went to the NCAA Tournament a year ago (UNLV, South Dakota State).
Bryson, a sophomore, is UCSB’s second-leading scorer, averaging 11.6 points per game, and is just one of two Gauchos to start in all seven games this season. Recently, he posted his first career double-double at UCLA with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Williams, Bryson and the rest of the men's basketball team will embark on a season-long five game road trip starting at the University of San Diego on Dec. 15. The games will be broadcasted online at UCSBGauchos.com and locally on AM 1290, the Santa Barbara News-Press radio station.
Nicole Nesbit is the women’s basketball team’s leading scorer and is only 18 points away from joining the program's 1,000-point club. If she maintains her team-high 18.4 points per game average, she can become UCSB’s 25th 1,000 point scorer on Sunday at Kansas State, Carlene Mitchell's alma mater. After the team’s contest with the Wildcats, it will return to the Thunderdome and host three straight home games against Utah State, Nevada, and Seattle.
Tickets for those games, as well as others for the men’s and women’s basketball seasons, can be purchased by calling 805.893.UCSB or clicking here.
